An Innovative Design of a Solar Double-Chimney Power Plant for Electricity Generation

The present work involves a new and novel upgrading design to the classical solar chimney power plant (SCPP) structure. SCPP was modified by adding co-centric secondary external structure enhance energy production. In improved design, named double-chimney (SDCPP), internal chimney, operates like traditional produce electricity during daytime whereas as 10 cooling towers (CT) in series. Each CT is equipped with turbine water sprinklers for further offers operation of day continuous (day-and-night). A mathematical model that includes mass balance equations system built using MATLAB. SDCPP produced up 993 MWh electrical energy, which 2.6 times higher than (377 MWh). configuration achieved percentage thermal efficiency (%ηth) 1.6%, 200 greater SCPP. economic assessment revealed 50% reduction localized cost (LCOE) compared key advantage related use low-cost material constructing reduce fixed capital prompt feasibility system. Overall, proposed feasible solution potentially greenhouse gas emissions.
